ABRASIVE JET – AN EFFICIENT TOOL FOR SURFACES MANUFACURING

Abstract. The abrasive jet erosion is a relative new manufacturing process, being successfully applied in many industries as automobile one, aircraft, electrochemical, paper, food and so on. The main application of the abrasive jet is materials cutting, but it is possible to be made millings or turnings of surfaces. The paper highlights the main technical and economical performances of this process and also presents the scheme of a process unit together with its most important component – the system of jet formation.
